چکیده

Rapid Prototyping is part of a modern technologies group whose target is to reduce the designing and manufacturing cycle of a product. One efficient rapid prototyping technique is that of 3D printing and, its benefits in designing and manufacturing elements of a laser medical device are presented by this paper. More, a simulation involving computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and heat transfer phenomena, carried out with finite element method, tested the good functional characteristics of the whole laser medical device. Key-Words: simulation, finite element method, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, model

"Rapid Prototyping" of Biosensing Surface Plasmon Resonance Devices using COMSOL & Matlab Software

We present a Finite Element Method simulation procedure that allows rapid development of prototype devices comprising novel self-referenced interference SPR (surface plasmon resonance) biosensing microstructures. The procedure takes advantage of commercial Comsol Multiphysics and Matlab software and their bi-directional link.

Numerical Simulation of Temperature Field and Stress Distributions in Multi-pass Single-layer Weld-based Rapid Prototyping

The complicated temperature field distribution during multi-pass single-layer weldbased rapid prototyping induces complex thermal stress evolutions and residual stress distributions. In this paper, a three-dimensional finite element model with temperature-dependent material properties is presented to investigate the temperature field and thermal stress distributions in multi-pass single-layer w...

Multipurpose 3d Modelling for Virtual Clinical Interventions

In this paper we summarize the approaches we made motivated by multi-purposes to build up 3D surface and solid models having the input of 2D consecutive slices usually captured by computer tomography. As the presented work is a part of a system for simulating and evaluating virtual surgical interventions, high quality visualization is an essential issue among our tasks. Moreover, as we use vali...

Numerical and Experimental Analysis and Optimization of Process Parameters of AA1050 Incremental Sheet Forming

The incremental sheet metal forming (ISMF) process is a new and flexible method that is well suited for small batch production or prototyping. This paper studies the use of the finite element method in the incremental forming process of AA1050 sheets to investigate the influence of tool diameter, vertical step size, and friction coefficient on forming force, spring-back, and thickness distribut...
